Everything About Japanese Streetwear
What is Japanese Streetwear and How to Wear It?
Konichiwa up guys so like I've been watching a lot of animes I mean Japanese streetwear is really just a unique and overlooked take on fashion is totally not an anime. I'm gonna break it down into three things and they're gonna be tops bottoms and shoes so take off your damn shoes in the house and let's get started.
Japanese Streetwear Tops
Damn I don't know how people can wear shoes in the house I mean it's so uncomfortable. Whatever, tops as a very grunge and almost post-apocalyptic vibe to the garments obviously you can just say "what, dude just wear Ape (A Bathing Ape) like Ape is Japanese brand" but that's like going to a sushi bar and only ever eating California rolls Ape is the California roll of Japanese Street where Americanized an entry level like there's nothing wrong with it but like have you ever had like underground brands? By branding isn't necessarily important as the look is pretty nuanced and low-key so if you're just trying to flex you can go outside and your stupid California roll by yourself. But there are a lot of Japanese brands that cater to the look already so definitely go browse the wide selection of pieces to find what you really like and work around it. Light layering is also a good technique to add to the structure and variety think of your fit as like sushi and this part is your seaweed it really ties the look together you know ...
You: "What, You're really just gonna sit there and compare food to clothes for like four minutes?"
Me: "Hey it'sworking okay and at least it's good food though I'm like in and out or something"
Like a picture or even a flannel over your top can really add some flavor to your fit (Hey, that wasn't another food joke I promise) just keep in mind a slight oversized fit is key.
Japanese Streetwear Bottoms
Next up we got bottoms and nothing's ever wrong with the well fitted black jeans but Bob pants are even capris. If you want to go full Land of the Rising Sun this gives a good loose and flowy vibe to go with the look also a different way to complement. Your shoes or Crocs (I'm not discriminating) instead of stacked you got either your socks or your ankles, studies show that one of one men that wear crop jeans may or may not get a reply from their crush and I trust those statistics. If you're not comfortable with that cut quite yeah a pair of straight fit denim is a stable as well and if you like the tech wear side cargo pants or always a yes from me!
Hella extra pockets to keep your yugioh carts tapered cargo pants are really making their way up for 2019 so don't be afraid to try them out for yourself, you can even just buy regular cargo pants and learn how to tailor them on youtube if you don't want to pay too much for them.
Japanese Streetwear Shoes
Last but not least we got we got brands like Asics Diadora and New Balance this style of vintage trainer really looks good with the aesthetic not like the athletic runners but not necessarily dad shoes either Japan also really loves their air maxes so there's a solid choice if you want to flex your freedom or you can basically wear any type of sneaker with a look and be totally fine! Though the look seems very plain there's a lot of creative room to work it into something that fits your personal tastes which is why everyone's style seems very unique the look really drives and looks best when you incorporate your own creative vision rather than trying to copy one's hype overall the whole quote Japanese streetwear look is very unique to each individual so there's no real uniform to tie it to alright to wrap this up!
