The Downshift Varsity 1985 is a black varsity bomber with a stepped sunset stripe across the back: six bands from purple down to gold that climb a level halfway across, like the tape graphics on an '85 hatchback. Up front there is only a small gold VHS box on the chest.

Black and white striped rib at the collar, cuffs and hem, a snap front and a lightly padded body that holds its shape. Snap it shut on a cold night, wear it open over a white tee the rest of the time.
