Anoraak is the melodic undertaking of French performer Frédéric Rivière, multi instrumentalist, vocalist, maker and DJ, previous drummer of Pony Run. furthermore, individual from the Valerie Collective alongside craftsmen, for example, College, Maethelvin, The Outrunners, Minitel Rose and Russ Chimes. Originating from the stone scene at first, he later came to electronic music, beginning Anoraak adjacent to his drummer position.
His music is identified with the retro-synth and 80's motivated scenes as of late featured by the film Drive's soundtrack. His sound is depicted as "fantastic synth-filled tracks that fall some place on the range among disco and new wave", "contemporary yet retro-tinged" or "simple, blustery [...] chugging along on vaporous synthesizers like an end of the week train to the beachside town of Nantes".

Rivière began Anoraak around 2008, when he discharged his introduction collection Nightdrive With You, first constrained to 1000 duplicates, at that point reissued in Japan and Australia. Anoraak then grew up to a 3 piece band, playing eminent France's Festival des Inrocks,SXSW celebration in Austin, Texas, Noise Music Festival in Monterrey, Mexico before leaving on The Drive Tour in 2012 with College and Electric Youth in USA and Canada.
In 2013, his third collection Chronotropic turned out, "lead[ing] the path in dusk propelled move fly" as indicated by Nest HQ and portrayed as "new wave vocals on disco" by French magazine Tsugi, immediately pursued by the EP Reworks, elective adaptations of tracks from the album,whose track Guest Star (Rework) was debuted on Rolling Stone. That year he collaborated with Anglo French team Loframes for the track "Since You've Gone" discharged on Los Angeles based name Midnight in Paris
In June 2017, Anoraak discharged Black Gold Sun, portrayed by Australian webzine Acid Stag as "Italo-disco, retro-synth, electro-pop goodness". The video for the track Last Call was debuted on major online French media Konbini.
