Com Truise

Com Truise is an electronic musician from New York, the USA. His real name is Seth Haley and he is currently living in California. As you can guess, he created his stage name Com Truise by a spooning the name of famous American actor Tom Cruise. He describes his own music style as ‘’mid-fi synth-wave, slow-motion funk’’. His songs are represented by Downtown Music Publishing.

 

Early Life and Career of Com Truise

Com Truise is from New York as we said above and he is born and raised there. He also started his music career in New York. We can say that he was active in music for most of the 2010’s. However, he used different pseudonyms during his career. Sarin Sunday, SYSTEM etc. Actually, he is an art director but he decided to become a musician and left art directing.

He made his debut as Com Truise in 2010 with the EP named The Cyanide Sisters. It could be downloaded for free and the label was AMDISCS. While making his first EP, he was very influenced by Joy Division, New Order and the Cocteau Twins. When you listen to the EP, you can understand the effect of those famous musicians if you are really interested in music. Then, again in 2011, he released another EP Fairlight in 2011.

In 2011, a remix from Com Truise was included in the Tron: Legacy Reconfigured album. In the same year, in June, he released his first album, Galactic Melt. There are remixes in the album such as Neon Indian (‘’Sleep Paralysist), Twin Shadow (Castles in the Snow) and Daft Punk (Encom Pt2) Then, he released the album named In Decay in 2012. First two albums of Com Truise were very successful according to lots of electronic music lovers.

New EPs and Albums Com Truise

After In Decay in 2012, he released the EP, Wave 1 in 2014 and Silicon Tare in 2016. Both are loved by electronic music listeners and rated generally 4-4,5 of 5 stars. His style was defined as the ‘’upbeat and living’’. Although there were some differences from his early works, his listeners said that the sound is still the authentic sound of Com Truise.

He released two albums after In Decay. The first one is Iteration and it was released in 2017. The second one is Persuasion System and it was released in 2019. Both of the albums were admired by critics from electronic music blogs, web sites. According to many critics, his style was very successful in recreating the synthesizer ambience of 1980’s and you will definitely love his songs if you are looking for the soundtracks of the VHS tapes of the era.
